This past weekend was simply gorgeous. Tank tops, anything outdoors, campfires....it's almost as if spring is here!
Our dog for sure has spring fever...he wants to play fetch and ball and go on walks ALL the time...wait. That is normal. Kyle and I, however, are really enjoying it! While he was at the driving range, I plopped down in my back yard with the pup and a good book in my hand. I sported the shorts and tank top, and I'm sure I scared a golfer or two, but I still technically have a few months before swimsuit season officially begins! Friday night Kyle and I enjoyed a small bonfire in our backyard. It can't get much better than my two boys, a beautiful starry night, and a fire. Love.
Hope spring is starting to make an appearance where you are!

V Date
I know valentines is WAY past, but I still thought I would share with you how we "celebrated." Kyle and I usually do not do your normal flowers and chocolate on valentines. Something about "overpriced flowers that die right away and chocolate that my hips don't need" usually play a part. Instead, we try and do something during the month that is special in its own way. Last year he took me to the rodeo and bought me my first pair of diamond earrings. It will be hard to top this years activity, though....
Helicopter ride. In Hawaii.
BOOM.
We took a 2.5 hour ride over the island in a helicopter. I realized that I get motion sick and thankfully Kyle was nice enough to give me his air vent the entire time. :) True love!
Check out some pictures!
It was a great activity that Kyle and I did together. I will always remember it! P.S. I HIGHLY recommend taking a helicopter tour at least once in your life. So different and unique!
Aloha!

Kyle and I right before we took off. It is such a different feeling than an airplane! I had a window seat so I took lots of pictures!
The steam is where the flowing lava is hitting the water. See how the lava is changing the color of the water? So neat!
Such a cool feeling to be this close to clouds, without the turbulence airplanes get from clouds!

Another helicopter giving a tour that I captured with my double rainbow!
The coastline was gorgeous.
That was our resort...a little green oasis in the middle of lava rock. It was dark and looked like a plowed field up north but the rock was SO sharp you could NOT walk on it.
The end of the ride. I was SO numb. In this picture, I couldn't make a fist and could barley stand. I LOVED the ride, but was glad to be back on solid ground.

Underwater
Did I mention we went swimming with the dolphins?
Because we did. They sound exactly like they do in the movies in real life in the water. So fun to listen to them talk back and forth. We saw the jump, do spins, flap their fins in the water...and some even wanted to play! Of course we were not allowed to touch them...I think we would all be too scared if it came right down to it. One of our friends did see one poop...
Here is what they looked like:
We used Neptune Charlies in Hawaii. They were AMAZING guides! We saw 15+ whales, about 5 breaches, Manta Rays, and we even found a momma/baby whale pair! So cool.
One day we went to the beach and Kyle took the camera this time. He got MUCH better photos! Look at all the fishies! I LOVE how the colors change!
Of course Kelly and I were more intrigued with taking pictures of ourselves rather than the fish...
Now we can have all sorts of underwater pictures! This case worked EXCELLENT. I used a Canon Digital Camera...no need to send film in! I used this case HERE
Can't wait to show you more!

I could have gotten a TON more, even close ups, but I was more concentrated on the fact of keeping my breakfast down than snapping pictures. No one else grabbed the camera, either!
Here's Kell in the water. Have you ever heard anyone scream through a snorkel? "WHALE! Is it safe to swim with WHALES?!" Cuz we did. A whale. Beneath us. Too funny!

Hawaii Time
Sorry for the lack of posts this past week or so. You see, I was a little busy. A little busy looking at this:
Kyle and I were busy enjoying ourselves and the amazing views of Hawaii. We traveled to the Big Island with 4 friends and had an amazing time. Here are a few teaser pictures until I can get the rest loaded!
Can't wait to show you more! Hope this helps some of you unthaw a bit that are stuck in the fresh snow up north!

Annual BBQ Rodeo Cook-off
Not sure how good your memory is (or how long you have been following),but every January Kyles work, PCI, participates in the San Antonio Rodeo BBQ Cook-off. (2012 and 2011) It's been growing in size and popularity since we have been down here, and the quality of the BBQ has also went up.
This past Saturday Kyle and I went out to the Sea World parking lot to enjoy the BBQ. The ribs and tortillas and brisket. All mouthwatering. Of course, to make the customers happy, there was plenty of liquids flowing throughout the day as well!
Lets let the pictures do the talking:
As always, the BBQ cookoff was a success. Every article of clothing we wore reeked of BBQ smell when we got home (seriously...even my plastic sunglasses smelled of BBQ on Monday!) An extra load of laundry was well worth it!

These Texans take this stuff seriously.
Where else could you find stuffed animal heads on a traveling bar? Texas.
These RIBS. Seriously. I don't think I will ever order ribs out again. For the third year in a row, my mouth waters with every bite. Amazing.
Shirts I designed for the group! They went along with the coozies and aprons as well!
The group! We had a BLAST.
The 70-something degree day was capped off with a beautiful sunset! (no filter or enhancement at all!)
