Let's Rodeo, SA!

On Monday night Kyle and I had a "date night" as he got us tickets for the rodeo and event show. We even got to enjoy the surroundings of the suite his company got again this year!

Date night!
As always, they put on a good show with the events kicking of with a laser show, national anthem, flag formations, and then of course, the rodeo events...which are always SUPER fun to watch because the level of competition at this rodeo is very high.

Opening ceremony with flags and march and anthem

Team Roping.
Bucking Bronco's. Saddle & Bareback
Gotta love watching the little kiddos ride the sheep! They can really hold on tight!
Calf Scramble. They let loose a certain number of calves and let more kids loose to chase them down. the first one to get one, tie a rope to it and drag it to the finish line wins $1000. Ever kid that pulls a calf across the line gets $500. Money is put towards their 4-H or FFA animal projects for the next year.
And then, after the rodeo events finished instead of a country singer (last year we saw Easton Corbin) we were treated to a comedy show. Ventrilzquist Terry Fator put on a great show! He has a show in Vegas, at the Mirage, that he normally does. He had about 6 different puppets, and even turning a real life person into a puppy! And instead of mostly jokes, he SANG. He would sing Aretha Franklin, Garth Brooks, Lady Gaga, and even some Elvis. He has an excellent voice, but to think he can sing like that without moving his lips is just crazy! If you have never heard of him, or ever find yourself in Vegas, look him up! Here is a link to a YouTube video of him.

As always, a great night out!

Happy Halloween

This weekend was excellent for many reasons.

1) The weather was a bit on the chilly side, but it was refreshing. The sun was still warm and gorgeous.
2) Kelly was in town visiting! We had another epic weekend.
3) Halloween was celebrated

All three of those things makes me happy :) Kelly visited from Thursday to Sunday. We had a great time getting our costumes together for the Halloween Party and enjoying each others company. We played LOTS of games, maily Taboo. Such a fun game. We also went to a Comedy Club. Such good laughs and good times. A group of 5 of us dressed up as Gilligans Island. It was great. Lots of fun.

Our friend Jason as Skipper, Kyle as Gilligan, Me as Mary Ann, Kelly as Ginger and our friend Dan as the Professor.

Another reason I enjoyed the weekend was the weather. On Sunday (after I took Kelly to the airport...BOO) Kyle and I took Tucker for an extra long walk around the neighborhood. It was super sunny and the perfect day. I got to see a lot of the neighbors yards - it's the first year for the holidays in the new house so its fun to see what people do (and what I can start planning for next year!)

Here are some of the best yards I saw:

And of course, Tucker could not be left out, so I borrowed Skippers hat. Here is Captain Bruns on Halloween morning! Now let's hope he doesn't get too wound up with all the kiddos ringing the doorbell tonight trick-or-treating. I can't wait to see all the kids in the neighborhood!

Hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween night! Happy Trick-or-Treating!

i'm a fan of comedy...

Last night Kyle, Jason, and I went to the Vince Vaughn and Kevin James Comedy Roadshow, and it was HILARIOUS.

You know who they are, right? Some of VV latest movies have been Couples Retreat, Four Christmases, Wedding Crashers, and The Break-Up. Some of KJ latest movies have been Grown Ups, Paul Bart Mall Cop, Hitch, and of course, his sitcom King of Queens. Here are some pictures to refresh your memory :)
The show started at 8:00 pm and I didn't stop laughing until it ended, around 10:30 pm. There were 3 stand-up comedians that accompanied the two hosts.
One was Richie Minervini, who owned the comedy club that Kevin James found his start at in New York. He has also had parts in movies with Kevin James, included Grown Ups, Paul Bart Mall Cop, and King of Queens.
The second was Steve Byrne, who also had small parts in movies with Vince Vaughn, such as Four Christmases and Couples Retreat.
The third was Owen Benjamin, who was a rockstar on the piano. I never knew the piano to be so funny! He found sounds to relate to jokes and emotions, which made it even more funny. He also had a small part in I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry.

Overall, it was a night full of laughs. It was a needed stress releiver and a great way to see some of my favorite actors in person. I am looking forward to see their new movie coming out, The Dilema, in January. Hopefully these two will do more movies together in the future!
